It does not add meaning in the textbook sense; it adds tone. The combined attached pronoun <em>glieli<\/em> covers both &#8220;to him&#8221; and &#8220;the documents&#8221;, and the speaker then names each one in order. This sounds dense on the page, but in real speech each piece arrives with a small pause and a clear intonation. Both are correct and both are common, but they live in different conversational moments.
