The second shape with <em>che<\/em> + subjunctive belongs to B1 and B2. The same shape comes back in good-bye lines too: <em>Sono stato felice di conoscerla<\/em> (it was nice to meet you, formal). The temptation to translate the -ing with a gerund (<em>aspettando<\/em>, <em>nuotando<\/em>, <em>leggendo<\/em>) is strong and wrong. Stick to the infinitive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Trap 2. The preposition is fixed by the adjective.<\/strong> You cannot pick whichever sounds better. <em>Felice<\/em> always takes <em>di<\/em>. <em>Pronto<\/em> always takes <em>a<\/em>. Saying <em>felice a vederti<\/em> or <em>pronto di partire<\/em> is a clear marker of a learner. Memorise the adjective and its preposition as a pair: <em>felice-di<\/em>, <em>pronto-a<\/em>, <em>stanco-di<\/em>, <em>abituato-a<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Trap 3. The adjective agrees in gender and number.<\/strong> The adjective is still an adjective, so it changes ending: <em>contento, contenta, contenti, contente<\/em>.
