The first is <strong>preposizioni proprie<\/strong> \u2014 words that function exclusively as prepositions: <em>di, a, da, in, con, su, per, tra, fra<\/em>. The second is <strong>preposizioni improprie<\/strong> \u2014 words that belong to other grammatical classes but act as prepositions in certain contexts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Le preposizioni italiane si dividono in due grandi categorie. La prima \u00e8 quella delle <strong>preposizioni proprie<\/strong>: parole che svolgono esclusivamente la funzione di preposizione. These words express place, direction, or time.
